Crispy Pork Belly Fried Rice with basil

INGREDIENTS

COOKING TIME: 5-10 MINUTES

  • 3 fl oz Stir Fry Sauce
  • 10oz cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 fl oz cooking oil (your choice of oil)
  • 5oz pork belly 
  • 1 tsp minced garlic 
  • Minced Thai chili or chili paste to your taste
  • 1/2 oz chopped yellow onion
  • 1/2 oz chopped carrots
  • 1/2 oz chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 oz chopped mushroom
  • 1/2 oz Thai Basil

COOKING

COOKING TIME: 5-10 MINUTES

  1. Cut the pork belly into approximately 1 inch slices (bite-sized). Deep fry in hot oil until the pork belly turns golden brown, then quickly remove from the oil. Once the pork belly has been deep-fried, you can move onto preparation for the rest of the meal. 
  2. Heat the pan over medium heat, pour the cooking oil into the pan and be sure to let it heat up before proceeding onto the next steps. 
  3. Add the garlic and spices and stir fry this mixture until it produces a fragrant aroma. Do not walk away from your pan at this point, as the garlic can burn very quickly! 
  4. Add the pork belly and veggies and stir fry two to three times. 
  5. Add the rice and stir all the ingredients together two to three times.
  6. Add the Stir Fry Sauce.
  7. Continue to stir-fry your ingredients together another two to three times as the sauce continues to absorb. 
  8. Turn off your heat source and plate your meal.
